Ireland Snaps, 14 September 2009
It has been a more then a month since we returned from our roadtrip in Ireland. It took me sometime to upload these photos as I was also making quite a number of trips around Germany/Europe with my family and friends.
I would describe Ireland as an enchanting place filled with atmospheric towns and villages, stretches of stunning coastline, a uniquely desolate beauty and a vibrant cultural heritage rich in tradition. I loved the middle-of-nowhere feel and it was lovely to explore this island which was quite different – barren, but very beautiful.
The weather was also gorgeous with plenty of sun which was perfect for cruising around this beautiful island and snapping great photos! We’ve been to quite a few beautiful spots in Ireland – West Coast consisting of Galway, Connemara, Donegal, Limerick, The Ring of Kerry, Killarney and Northern Ireland consisting of Belfast & The Giants Causeway.
Having driven through the region, one can observe how the changing landscapes of mountains, plains and sea land themselves to the wonderful produce we experienced. There are always so many interesting places to visit, but time is always an issue, as it takes a long time to drive from one end of the island to the other. There were many more places we wanted to visit, but that was all we had time for – hopefully we’ll have another chance to go back to this beautiful country again one day! Enjoy the photos!

We just came back from a week’s trip to Italy – a few days in Florence as well as in Trento, Pisa and Verona. I will write about the adventurous week next time, but I wanted to share some of the shots from Verona for now. Italy is a beautiful country that have definitely something over above the great food and atmosphere…

My recent trip to Bali was inspiring although it was my third time there after many years. This lovely island have changed but the charm still stays, something which can’t be explained, maybe it’s rich culture and cuisine makes it so enticing.
Bali did not feel so foreign this time as I was able to meetup with an old friend who is no stranger to Bali. R arranged the transport to move around Seminyak, Nusa Dua, Denpasar, Jimbaran and Kuta. We were introduced to the famous Made Warung which carries a variety of local Balinese favourites. One of R’s favourite was the local Rojak which tasted quite unusual. The gravy was quite light, mixed with some local fish sauce and the usual prawn paste. I thought it was quite interesting after the second round of it. The local spring rolls, nasi campur and fried rice tasted excellent.
The next highlight of this trip was watching the sunset at Kudeta which was undescribably amazing. Kudeta have an open lounge concept whereby the crowd could just sit or dine facing the beach front. This place was just perfect to enjoy the sunset while enjoying some drinks and snacks. It was sprawling with western tourists which made me feel like I am somewhere in the Caribbean Island!

We also visited some beautiful villas in Nusa Dua named Parkview Heights. My friend R is managing them and you could check out the following site for more information on reservations or purchase at http://parkviewheightsbali.com

I would be looking forward for my next return just to sit at the beach and indulge myself on more delicious Balinese cuisine and culture. This time I will make sure that I am not having fever and flu!! Thanks again to my good old friend R for being our great company!

It was an unusual evening when I captured this photo from my apartment. The sun was shining very strongly with a warm feeling of the arrival of Spring.

It was my first time capturing Singapore’s landscape even though I have lived there for the past 15years. It feels abit foreign returning to this little red dot. A country where capitalism and consumerism reigns.
